With a turnover of worldwide 1,059 million euros in fiscal year 2016, Nilfisk punctured the one-billion mark for the first time. The company’s organic growth was three percent; the results before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITA) climbed to 11 percent and the number of employees grew worldwide to 5,600. With a turnover share of 59 percent, the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, Asia) was responsible for the largest part of the value added; in the product segments, the floor-cleaning portfolio presented itself as a growth driver.
In 2016, one of the most important projects for the future was the announcement of the “Horizon” innovation program, a strategic long-term joint project between Nilfisk and Carnegie Robotics, manufacturer of modern robotics sensors and software. The company expects to present its first autonomous floor cleaner at the CMS 2017 in Berlin.
