easily exchange the respective tool. “The scrubber dryer machines
are in use a good two hours every day; then the floor cleaning is
done,” summarizes Zimmermann.
Focus on chemistry and art rooms
“The amount of dirt varies daily,” Klaic points out. Above all, in the
preschool and primary school, there are true mountains of sand
in the three sandboxes, which turn into mud when the kids play
with water. And all of this gets into the ground floor of the primary
school, sometimes even leaving its traces all the way up to the first
floor. In winter, grit and slush also get into the foyer; in the spring
it’s the pollen, which is noticeable throughout the entire building.
The second and third floors are home to the slightly older pupils.
“Here, there is much less dirt,” reports Klaic.
The classrooms are usually laid with carpet. The science rooms
have tile floors, while the art room has parquet. Experimentation
with the most diverse chemical and physical substances as well as
painting, crafts with paper and natural materials leave traces, from
acids to paint splotches, which must be completely eliminated
during maintenance cleaning.
In the physics, chemistry and art room as well as floor corridors,
the smaller of the two scrubber dryer machines is used. Due to
its dimensions, it can be transported in the elevator. It is also so
agile that it can even be used in rooms with cramped conditions.
